Please ensure you complete all steps (including the final checkout page and payment) as registration will not be finalized until the swimmer registration, all forms and waivers are completed and submitted. Please ensure you read this full page before proceeding.
Registration opens February 20, 2024 at 9 am for returning families with new family registration starting on March 5, 2024 at 9 am. Registrations received before these dates will not be considered.
Registration will remain open until ALL spots with the team are full. After that, a wait list will be created in case openings become available.
Despite submitting a registration, new swimmer placement is not guaranteed until after the try outs.
Registration fees will include the purchase of one newly redesigned club swimsuit. All swimmers are expected to have a club suit for competition. For any swimmers wishing to purchase a performance suit, this will be at your own expense over and above the provided club suit.
To ensure the new suits are available for the season, pre-season suit fittings for all swimmers. Once the dates and times are confirmed, they will be communicated to families. Please plan on attending one of the sessions.
During the fitting, returning families will be asked to submit their 2024 bond cheques and will also be asked to sign all required Swim Alberta/Swim Canada forms. Swimmers who do not complete these steps may be prevented from participating in practices until forms and bonds are submitted.
For new swimmers, families will be asked to sign the Swim Alberta/Swim Canada forms and provide the bond cheques at their first regular practice following the tryout Monday (more details will be communicated to you).
New Swimmer Try Out Information – All new swimmers will be required to try out. Details about date and time will be shared directly with families. The try out will give our coaches an opportunity to assess if new swimmers can safely participate with our tentative group assignments. During the evaluation, swimmers will be asked to demonstrate their ability.
Please note that our youngest swimmers train in the dive tank so they must be comfortable in deep water. Life jackets are not permitted.
Placement is based on the new swimmer’s ability to fit into age appropriate groupings. Some groups will have more openings than others. Please provide as much information as possible regarding your previous swimming experience and ability on the registration form as this will allow us to assess where your swimmer can be placed. We have limited openings for new swimmers, and we do our best to ensure that swimmers are placed with similarly skilled swimmers of an appropriate age group.
After the try out, new swimmers will be placed in tentative training groups for a one-week trial period. Please be aware we cannot finalize acceptance with our club until after the first week trial period is completed.
All swimmers that do not secure a spot with the club will have all bonds and payments refunded, returned or shredded.
Swimmer Eligibility:
Please note: The Calgary Tritons Summer Swim Club is a member of the Alberta Summer Swimming Association (ASSA) and as such we conform to all ASSA swimmer eligibility rules. In general swimmers cannot participate in any non-competitive or competitive swim instruction (excluding learn-to-swim programs, Red Cross, Canadian Lifesaving programs and approved activities) between the months of September 1 – April 30. For further clarification please refer to the ASSA Rules and Regulations for more information (Sections 7.0 Eligibility to Section 10.0). Registration Process
Please use the form on the Swimmer Registration page to register your swimmer. Note: One entry form must be filled out for each swimmer you wish to register. If a family has more than ONE swimmer, please complete ALL swimmer registration forms before proceeding to step 2.
*Email confirmation will be sent to you upon completed submission for each form. If you do not receive an email, please check your spam/other folder.
Visit the Waivers and Agreement Page to complete/review each of the items. Upon the start of the swim season, each swimmer will be required to agree to the terms of the Swimmer Code of Conduct and Swimmer Social Media policy with coaches.
Please follow the prompts on each page and complete all waivers and agreements.
Copies of the bond agreements, Volunteer Points System, Calgary Tritons Handbook, Parents Code of Conduct, Swimmers Code of Conduct , and the Social Media Code of Conduct for Swimmers can be found on the Resources tab for future reference.
Important: Please ensure you complete the CART CHECKOUT page to finalized your registration. Ensure you include your swimmers name in the Order Notes section of the form.
Registration fees for the 2024 swim season are $550 per swimmer. This includes registration and one new club swimsuit for 2024.
Preferred payment for 2024 is by e-transfer. If you are registering multiple swimmers, please complete all the registrations prior to payment.
For e-transfers, please e-transfer your registration fee to treasurer@calgarytritons.ca to finalize registration. Please include your swimmers names in the message section of the transfer.
If you wish to pay by credit card or debit card through PayPal, please contact treasurer@calgarytritons.ca and you will be emailed a payment link to submit the fees. Subject to a 3% User Fee.
Payments not received within 48 hours are subject to cancellation.
Bonds: For 2024, the Calgary Tritons will collect one combined bond cheque per family plus a cheque for the Casino Bond. This bong cheque will cover the Tritons’ meet bond, volunteer and officials points system bond, and fundraising bond. For families with one swimmer, the combined bond is $375 and for families with two or more swimmers, the bond is $450. Please make the cheques payable to the Calgary Tritons Summer Swim Club and date it August 30, 2024. The Casino bond of $300 per family will be required to ensure participation in the club casino May 20 and 21, 2024. Please ensure your swimmers name is written on the cheques.
Important: For returning swimmers, the one combined bond cheque and Casino Cheque must be given to the club during the swimsuit fittings. New swimmers will be asked for the bond cheque at their first full practice date once accepted to the club.
Swimmer registration is not complete until all payments and bonds are received. Swimmers will not be allowed to attend practices until all bonds are submitted.

All withdrawal/refund requests must be made in writing to the Tritons president and treasurer. The club has approximately 100 spots available each season and budgets are built to support a full roster. *Exceptions may be made if found medically necessary, or through the approval of the Tritons Board. Please make all requests through the president. |
